Our Story

Founded in 2016 on Lamu Island, Saba Studios is a design lab and manufacturer rooted in Kenya’s northern coast. Our practice grew out of close collaboration with Swahili craftsmen, blending vernacular traditions with contemporary design.

Our sensibility is inspired by the rich history of Lamu’s architecture, furniture, and crafts — reinterpreted through an architectural lens to create timeless pieces that carry cultural memory into modern life.
